It's all Nick

Some day last week we went to nickelodeon universe. It was an amusement park. There was a ride like crazy mouse from Iowa. Although it spun more. That was my favorite ride.

My favorite contraption though was
a ropes course. All of us went on it but mom and I went twice. It was great and cheep. It was 6$ per person. You could never fall though or get unhooked. It was an amazing experience.

There was also a Hugo Lego store. They had giant Lego sculptures on the roof and dragon on the side.

Mini Minneapolis

I have to say, I don't feel like we gave Minneapolis a very fair shake.  After a very long drive getting there, we were a little worn out.  We woke up very late (10!) so we headed to the Mall of America- specifically Nickelodeon Universe.  We all lived the Lego store with its amazing models.  They were HUGE- like several stories high.  Very impressive.  The kids, of course, loved all the rides.  The kids will blog more about that.

Then we hopped the commuter rail to downtown for a Twins game with my friend John.
The stadium is very nice and has an intimate feeling to it.  All the says seem close - although John had bought us amazing seats that actually were really close - just about 20 rows from first base!
We had some good local beers, and enjoyed the game, even though the Twins lost.  The kids loved that there was a special kids giveaway that night- pencil boxes!  They even got a second gift if pencils, notebooks and snacks for school.  Thanks, Target!

The next morning we got up and went downtown to see the famous Cherry and Spoon and the Walker Sculpture Garden.
They had a REALLY cool exhibit where famous sculptors had designed miniature golf holes and they put together this little course with all of them!  We would have loved to have played but the wait was 2 hours when we were there, and we couldn't make that work. We did watch people play it for a while, and it was really cool!

Then, it was back to Mall of America.  We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, which the kids did not remember from when it was in Tyson's corner.  Then we did back to school shopping for each kid.  There certainly were a lot of stores to choose from!  We also did the Amazing Mirror Maze, which I had scored a Groupon for before we left.   The kids LOVED it, and did it several times.  I thought it was fun too.

The kids and Justin then spent a hour or so on the ropes course and slide.
I have no pictures if them on it, as I went and got a mani/pedi while they did it.  Good times for all!  We grabbed dessert at the Magic Pan!  It wasn't the actual restaurant (which left New England about 20 years ago), but a legit stand that brought back great memories if going there with my Nana when I was a kid.

We headed back to the campground for some pool time (and laundry), and that was it. Not sure Mall of America, a Twins game, and the cherry spoon count as taking in the best of Minneapolis, but there we are!
